This time of year, I make my yearly trip to our local strawberry patch. I love this place, it’s so relaxing to bask in the sun and leisurely pick berries. It’s mental therapy for me, what can I say. It doesn’t get any better than to end the pickling experience with a strawberry slushy too!
Here are just a few things I made with my baskets of berries. I love to make homemade frozen yogurt and strawberry Ice tea. I could make everything strawberry for a whole month if my family would let me!
If you have an ice cream maker, this recipe is so easy, you can whip it up in a few hours!
Strawberry frozen yogurt
32 oz. vanilla flavored Greek yogurt
1 cupcake heavy cream
½ cup of sugar (or you can do honey, I have done that before and it’s great!)
2 cups of puréed strawberries
1 tsp vanilla extract
Combine all ingredients, cover and chill 1 hour before you freeze in your ice cream maker.
Strawberry ice tea
1 cup pureed fresh strawberries, with a little honey added if needed to boost the sweetness ( I added 1 tbsp. to mine)
Half gallon of unsweetened, or slightly sweetened ice tea of choice. I love Tazo passion ice tea.
Lots of ice
Combine and enjoy!
