I’m always trying to find inventive ways to make a memory or two with my family. Some of my ideas are successes, some...well, not so much!
Over the last year or so I have seen things on Facebook and have heard people mentioning how they went to a paint studio and painted with their husband or group of friends. It sounded so fun to me and after a few “please for mom” pleas, my daughter agreed to go.
It was so much fun! I mean, you don’t have to know anything about painting, and all you need is a little focus and the ability to hold a brush! The instructor walks you through the whole thing. She declares “It’s just paint” to keep you calm! We were pleasantly surprised how well we did and it made us feel proud that we could take a painting home that “resembled” the piece of art the instructor exampled for us. We had a lot of laughs, I mean you have to laugh at yourself, that’s a large part of what makes it so fun! I did come to the realization that I’m not such a bad painter after all, and Emma and I are hooked...can’t wait to go back again and this time bring someone with us!
Look up Paint studios in your area, and go make a memory with someone! You would be surprised you might have an inner Picasso hiding inside of you! If not, it will be quality time with someone you care about!
